Alex Duperouzel

is one of the owners of ComplianceAsia and heads the company's office in Hong Kong. An accountant by training, he initially worked for accounting firms in their insolvency practices and then moved to Kroll Associates where he was a fraud investigator focussed on the financial industry. He is particularly involved in compliance issues for hedge funds, private equity funds, institutional brokers and corporate finance houses.

Philippa Allen

is the CEO of ComplianceAsia. She is a former litigation lawyer and has been involved in financial industry compliance since 1991. Prior to founding ComplianceAsia in 2003, she held a number of senior positions with Allianz Dresdner, Dresdner RCM, Dresdner Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, LGT Asset Management and GT Asset Management. She leads the technical side of the ComplianceAsia consulting practice and is involved in all the major projects that the firm undertakes. She is involved in a number of government consultations regarding financial regulation and about a decade ago was one of the drafters of the Hong Kong Fund Manager Code of Conduct for the SFC.

Karl Hindle

is a business columnist for Alister & Paine and freelance financial, insurance and technology writer retained by Axco International, Mintel, CIG Insurance and others. A graduate of Aston Business School and Arthur Andersen's accountancy and tax practice, he has spent twenty years in the boardroom, including twelve as Managing Director of Andersen Group until its sale in 2003. Karl is British and based in the UK and US where he reports on financial regulatory developments in both London and Washington D.C. as well as New York and other global markets. He has a particular interest in social media and the dissemination of financial information and is currently engaged on a Real-Time Search project led by Arnold IT, retained by the US government.

 

Lisa Valentine

is a U.S.-based freelance writer and editor with 20 years of experience covering the financial services industry. She has written for a variety of trade publications and corporate clients in the banking, insurance and capital markets sectors as well as technology vendors selling into those markets. Clients include Schwab Institutional, AIG, MetLife, Janus, Northern Trust, Oracle and Wells Fargo. Before launching her writing career, Lisa was an IT business analyst at AT&T and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Lisa holds a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and is a member of the American Society of Business Publications Editors.
