“Gearing up Regulatory Framework and Regional Cooperation - for New Era of Growth in Asian Bond Markets."
Monday, November 30, 2009 at 5:44AM Later this week Malaysia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will host about 100 Asian policymakers and bond market participants in Kuala Lumpur as reported by the Securities Commission on 26 November 2009. The participants will consider common regulatory standards and market practices to help promote the development of the Asian bond markets and enhance cross-border transactions.
It is hoped that the conference will facilitate discussion on, and pave the way for, greater financial integration in the Asian bond markets as detailed under the Asian Bond Markets Initiative (ABMI). ABMI is an initiative endorsed by the ASEAN+3 and supported by the ADB.
Speakers will be from all around the region and be from dealer associations, governments and regulators.
We enthusiastically await the recommendations that come from the conference.
